Lucrezia Borgia is a tragedy of great pathos. Donizetti created in Lucrezia one of his greatest roles – known to history as of history’s most famous poisoners, she is a cunning strategist and a loving mother at the same time, a complex woman in a dangerous situation.
This opera is performed on period instruments in partnership with the much-praised Old Street Band
