Welcome to DARKFIELD. We hope you enjoy your stay.

At check-in we will issue you a key card and allocate you a chaperone to guide you to the other side of the dream. Follow the right path and don’t volunteer to become the subject of the eulogy every guest is preparing to deliver.

EULOGY is a surreal, otherworldly journey through a dreamlike, labyrinthine hotel that exists entirely in your mind. How you arrived is a mystery and why you’re there remains unclear. Just make sure you read the pamphlet.

Performed in complete darkness over 35 minutes, this intense and exhilarating ride uses binaural sound and speech recognition technology to deceive the senses and transport audience members through rooms, down corridors and into the bowels of this strange and not altogether comfortable hotel. How your dream unfolds is, in part, up to you.

DARKFIELD produces innovative immersive experiences at the forefront of technology and theatre. It’s location-based work utilises striking sets inside shipping containers, binaural 360-degree sound, complete darkness, and a variety of sensory effects, where each participant is situated at the centre of an intense, evolving narrative.

Reviews

“You have been acknowledged, listened to, and in so doing, are, in some horribly indefinable way, responsible…”

The Skinny on EULOGY   ★★★★

“Darkfield presents it’s most disorienting and dream-like encounter yet… the experience of having immaterial, occasionally unsettling dreams is universal, and something that Eulogy explores sensationally.”

 Collage Adelaide on EULOGY   ★★★★

“A trippy, sensory adventure… Voices whisper intimately in your ear, music tinkles, doors clang. Puffs of air and little jolts of the cubicle contribute to the sensation of motion.”
