Next Act explores the idea that anyone can be an activist and that activism takes many forms – it’s not all arrests and soup. It can be community building, or gardening, or spoken word. What matters is you care, and your acting, and your sharing.
This is your chance to take to the stage and share your creative responses to the climate crisis. Your host – writer, artist and activist Meg Watts – will start the evening with their own work, nurturing an open space where dialogue is encouraged and everyone is welcome to share their views – or just sit and reflect.

About Meg
Meg Watts is an artist, writer and climate justice activist based in Norwich. They’re the founder of Wyrd Norwich, a community archive of wyrd and wonderful oddities in Norwich, as well as a freelance climate writer and environmental speaker. Meg also works at Norfolk Wildlife Trust to make nature and natural spaces more accessible, exciting and welcoming for everyone. In their own creative practice, Meg uses visual art and storytelling to explore the complexities of nature, climate change and the historical power structures that shape our relationships with the natural world today. They’re currently exploring the impacts of colonialism and capitalism on queer Britons and immigrants in the countryside – using creative writing to interrogate the question of who “belongs” in nature.
