During the two opening weeks of INTERLUDE, The Garage will present one of its signature ‘My first’ productions for early years children, My First Show: Little Bo Peep and Her Missing Sheep. Over 11 & 12 September the stage will be programmed by Norwich Arts Centre and feature Norfolk favourite poet and perfomer Luke Wright alongside a Bands Night featuring Christina Alden & Alex Patterson and The Shackleton Trio.

INTERLUDE opens on 10th August with Norwich favourite Karl Minns transferring from Norwich Theatre Playhouse with She-Go Does It IN A Tent…With Friends, a specially adapted show for INTERLUDE.  Other new names now added to the INTERLUDE line-up from Theatre Royal and Playhouse’s regular visiting artists include multi-award winning stand-up comedian Paul Chowdhry, alongside Bafta-nominated comedian Rachel Parris and global superstar La Voix.

INTERLUDE is produced by Norwich Theatre in partnership with Lost in Translation Circus and supported by Norwich City Council and Norwich BID.  We are delighted to also announce that INTERLUDE is now presented in association with Aspall’s.

Stephen Crocker, Chief Executive of Norwich Theatre, said: “It’s brilliant that we are able to announce more additions to a great line up of acts including shows produced and presented by our partner organisations, Norwich Arts Centre and The Garage.  It is fantastic to be collaborating across the city in this way to bring back live performance to theatre and gig-goers of all ages.

“Whilst it is very disappointing that indoor performances will not be able to recommence from 1st August, we are pleased to confirm that this will not adversely impact INTERLUDE, which will proceed as planned.

“INTERLUDE was conceived and planned in line with the guidelines for the recommencement of outdoor performances and specific guidelines for the use of tented outdoor spaces.  These came into effect from 11th July and are not impacted by today’s announcement.  We look forward to welcoming audiences to INTERLUDE over the coming weeks in a safe and enjoyable way.”

Adam Taylor, Executive Director of The Garage, said: “I am really pleased to be able to present one of our co-produced My First productions as part of the INTERLUDE programme, although The Garage hasn’t stopped its work during lockdown, we hadn’t found a way to present interactive children’s theatre; now we can – My First Show: Little Bo Peep and her missing sheep is a new interactive actor musician production for early years.”

Pasco-Q Kevlin, Director of Norwich Arts Centre, said: “This is so necessary, we have all missed being in a place with others listening to great artists, INTERLUDE is allowing this to happen, in a safe and fun environment.  I’m looking forward to being there.”

INTERLUDE runs from Mon 10 Aug – Sun 20 Sep 2020. Newly programmed shows and activities will continue to be announced.

All tickets will be available online at norwichtheatre.org or via Norwich Theatre Box Office on 01603 630 000.

Ticket bookers for shows being transferred from the current Playhouse programme will be contacted directly by Norwich Theatre Box Office to move their bookings to an equivalent INTERLUDE performance.
