Are you aged 9-13 and born to perform on stage? Here’s your opportunity!

We are on the lookout for budding young performers to play the child roles of Biff and Boff in this year’s panto Jack and the Beanstalk.

The pair are two local school children in Norwich who are good friends of Jack and try to help him succeed in life, but are hungry because all money goes to the giant.

Applications are open now and will take place via an online platform. Children will be required to submit a recording of a song and a reading. All applications submitted will be viewed and considered by the production team. Successful applicants will then be invited to the next stage to audition in person at Norwich Theatre on Saturday 3 September.

Due to the number of performances, we will be casting four children for each role, with the number of performances split between actors.

All children must be between 9 and 13 years of age. Applicants must be available for all rehearsals from 21 November to 9 December 22 and performances from 10 December 22 to 7 January 23. This will involve time during school hours, evenings, and weekends.

No previous acting experience is necessary, but we are looking for children who can sing and dance.

Still unsure? Here is what our previous panto kids have said:

“The pantomime experience for me was a period of magic, dreaminess and wonderfulness. I wished it had never ended. Lovely people who had a passion for what I love to do. Do it!” – Joshua, Robin Fitzwarren – Dick Whittington and his Cat 2021

“It’s a magical experience! You meet such amazing people, perform in the most wonderful show and make friends for life. I will never forget it!” – Mila, Rose Fitzwarren - Dick Whittington and his Cat 2021

Applications for the roles are open now, and you can apply here: https://submit.link/V6. Applications will only be accepted if submitted by the child’s parent or legal guardian.

The application process will close on Friday 19 August.
